Anti-riot policemen use a baton , shields and water cannons to dispers protesters when they managed to reach Mendiola Bridge Friday June 9, 2006 to protest the rash of killings of journalists and leftists, the latest is Marcus Bangit a leftists was gunned down in Isabela Province. The protesters are blaming President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's government as well as Police and the military for the alarming rash of killings around the country which claimed the lives of 49 journalists and 607 activists since 2001 when arroyo becme president. Three police officers and about 30 others protesters were injured in the clash
